NINA SHENGOLD’s novel Clearcut (Anchor Books) was a Book Sense Notable selection and Seattle Post-Intelligencer Best Books pick. She collaborated with photographer Jennifer May on River of Words: Portraits of Hudson Valley Writers (SUNY Press) and with Eric Lane on 13 theatre anthologies for Vintage Books and Viking Penguin. Her plays are published by Playscripts Inc, Broadway Play Publishing, and Samuel French. She won the Writers Guild Award for her teleplay Labor of Love, starring Marcia Gay Harden. Nina has taught creative writing at the University of Maine, Vermont College of Fine Arts, Manhattanville College, and as a Visiting Guest Artist at SUNY Ulster. A Stone Ridge resident, she is longtime books editor of Chronogram magazine and a founding member of Actors & Writers.
JANA MARTIN received an MFA from the University of Arizona, where she has also taught fiction writing. Her highly praised debut collection Russian Lover and Other Stories is published by Yeti Press. Her story “Hope” won a Glimmer Train Short Story Award for New Writers. Her stories and nonfiction have appeared in Five Points, Spork, Yeti, the Village Voice, Cosmopolitan, and Willow Springs. A veteran of numerous downtown bands including the Campfire Girls, Jana lives in Woodstock with three German Shepherds and is currently writing a novel. She was the 2016 Visiting Guest Artist at SUNY New Paltz, and is a contributing editor to theweeklings.com.
